Pain & Healing at Work

My son Shawn and some of his colleagues are conducting some important research on people’s pain and healing at work.  Over the years, I have personally seen how pain can be contagious.  One person’s pain can spread to others and even throughout an entire organization.   On the other hand, if you are the person experiencing pain, it can be challenging to lead and be at your best.  Understanding why pain happens, and what methods people use to heal themselves and others, can help us lift and strengthen people and organizations and make them more positive places to work.

To help us learn more, we are inviting as many people as we can across industries and all levels of organizations to complete this survey.

As an additional incentive, once you complete the survey, you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card (1 card awarded for every 150 people who complete the survey). You will also receive a communication sharing what we learned.

Shawn Quinn, Jeff Bednar and Beth Wilkins are leading this research in partnership with Taeya Howell at Brigham Young University and has been approved by the BYU IRB (Emotions at Work, IRB2022-380). If you have any questions about the project, please let us know [or contact Taeya at thowell@byu.edu].

We are very grateful for your help, and hope that what we learn will also help you and many others. Please find the link to the survey below.
